The city of Clermont-Ferrand hosts a large number of higher education institutions: 2 universities and 6 grandes écoles. In total, nearly 40,000 students are based in Clermont-Ferrand, thereby representing more than one tenth of the population of the metropolis. Clermont-Ferrand is also very attractive to international students. Indeed, 6,000 international students choose to live an experience in this area.
In order to better guide its international students, the city of Clermont Ferrand has set up a welcome desk, a place dedicated to accompanying them in all their daily life requests (health administration, housing, cultural outings…).
Also, it dedicates to international students an official and festive welcome at the beginning of each university year. Labelled Nuits des Etudiants du Monde, this event facilitates the integration of international students in the region.
Furthermore, the city of Clermont-Ferrand provides a mobility scholarship for students wishing to do an academic or professional experience (internship) in one of the cities of its Michelin city network.
