Well-known for its vineyards, Pessac is also and specifically renowned for its student identity. The campus hosts indeed more than 40,000 students, including a significant number of international students enrolled in the many programmes offered on site.
To provide the best possible personalised support for international students in the area, the town of Pessac has drawn up a student guide, available in 4 languages: French, English, Spanish and Chinese. Published annually, the guide is full of practical information on all aspects of daily life in France, from transport and accommodation to administrative formalities. The town’s youth information service is also available to welcome students and help them with their academic, personal and professional projects.
The town of Pessac also offers its international students the opportunity to celebrate their arrival in the town during the Nuit des Etudiants du Monde (Night of World Students). During this festive evening, the students are officially welcomed by the town’s elected representatives, before being offered a range of convivial activities. This unique event is sure to be a memorable one for the international students, ensuring that their move to Pessac begins under the best possible circumstances.
